Blocking
My apps aren't locking
Sakina blocks through Apple's Screen Time framework, which needs permission. Open Settings → Screen Time and check Sakina is allowed, then re-pick your apps in Sakina → Settings → Blocked apps. Blocking does not work in the Simulator, and it needs iOS 17 or later.
The lock arrived a few minutes after the adhan
That is deliberate. Apps lock a short grace period after the call to prayer — by default 10 minutes, adjustable from 0 to 15 in Settings — so a shield never drops on top of a call or something else you are in the middle of. The prayer window, and whether you are on time, still start at the adhan itself.
How do I get my apps back?
Mark the prayer as prayed, or mark yourself excused. There is no timer that lets them out, which is the point of the app. Uninstalling Sakina also removes every block it applied.
Prayer times
My times look wrong
Check the calculation method and the Asr madhab in Settings → Prayer times. Methods legitimately disagree, so pick the one your local masjid uses. Also check your location is right — you can set a city by hand if you would rather not share location.
Subscriptions
Cancelling
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal. There is no free trial to end, and cancelling takes nothing away — the app is free to use in full either way.
Restoring a purchase on a new phone
Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.
Refunds
Apple handles refunds for everything bought through the App Store, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue them ourselves, but tell us what went wrong and we will try to fix it.
Privacy
Your prayer log, excused days, blocked-app choices and location never leave your iPhone. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy. To erase everything the app stores, delete the app.
